Rick Haugen

Agent & Vice President

Rick Haugen is an experienced insurance professional focused on helping clients navigate the complexities of the insurance marketplace and secure the best value for their investment. He began his career in 1978 as a marketing trainee with Maryland Casualty, drawn to the industry through his strong background in mathematics and an early exposure to actuarial science. Over the course of his career, Rick has earned his CPCU, ARM, and CIC designations and successfully completed four actuarial exams.

Rick spent more than a decade with Philadelphia Insurance (1997–2009), where he developed specialized expertise in the human services sector. His work included insuring organizations such as group homes, shelters, and other service providers dedicated to caring for others. This experience continues to shape his thoughtful, client-centered approach.

He is particularly interested in understanding how businesses operate, how they generate revenue, deliver services, and what makes them unique. Rick approaches each client relationship with the goal of seeing decisions from their perspective, providing guidance as if he were in their position.

Outside of his professional work, Rick has been actively involved in community service, volunteering with organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters, the Elm Grove Fire Department, the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association, and the Wauwatosa Mayfair Rotary Club. He also values meaningful personal experiences, including a trip retracing his father’s World War II path through Normandy, France, and Belgium, an experience that left a lasting impression.
