Holly Testerman Awarded 7th Annual Jack Ryan Community Service Award

At Robertson Ryan, our people make a meaningful impact far beyond the workplace, and we are proud of those who dedicate themselves to serving their communities.

Since 2019, the Jack Ryan Community Service Award has recognized outstanding community engagement inspired by our founder Jack Ryan’s inclusive spirit and deep belief in people helping people.

The 2025 award honors Holly Testerman, Senior Account Manager in Baltimore, Maryland, as the recipient of the 7th Annual Jack Ryan Community Service Award.

Since 2009, Holly has served as a volunteer firefighter with the Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company in Harford County, Maryland. In 2019, she was elected President of the Company, where she now leads approximately 30 active volunteers. Her service is driven not by recognition, but by a genuine sense of responsibility to her neighbors and community.

“For us, this award is about recognizing people who lead with heart and humility,” said Allan Degner. “Holly represents the very best of Robertson Ryan. Her commitment to serving others, often in the most difficult moments, is both inspiring and deeply meaningful.”

Holly’s impact spans emergency response and long-term community care. She has supported families after devastating house fires, helped protect vulnerable residents during the COVID crisis, and played a key leadership role during a Christmas Day fire that displaced a local family. In response, hundreds of neighbors rallied together, with the fire company coordinating the storage and distribution of donated clothing and furniture until the family could rebuild. Reflecting on that day, Holly shared, “I have always been proud of where I live, but that day I could not have been prouder. It was a sight to behold. This is the definition of Norrisville.”

Service runs deep in Holly’s family. Her father served as a city firefighter for 30 years, her brother was a battalion chief, and both of her daughters now serve alongside her, one of whom inspired her to join.

Beyond emergency response, Holly leads community events such as open houses focused on building trust and connection. Her philosophy is simple. Making people feel better is what matters most.
